What does Datadory deliver from CelesTrak?

Three scored records describing the tracked sky: current GP element sets for roughly 35,000 objects at 10 out of 10 on our quality rubric, the SATCAT registry of about 70,355 catalogued objects at 9 out of 10, and the Orbit Data Portal umbrella adding conjunction reports and auxiliary series at 9 out of 10. All three ship cleaned, keyed on the NORAD catalog number and documented.

How many objects do the CelesTrak datasets cover?

About 70,355 catalogued objects per the boxscore dated 21 August 2026: 19,894 payloads on orbit, 16,885 of them active, plus 14,975 pieces of tracked debris. Roughly 35,000 of the on-orbit population carries current general-perturbations elements; the remainder are historical records with launch and decay histories attached.

What is the difference between GP element sets and SATCAT records?

Element sets describe orbital state - epoch, inclination, eccentricity, mean motion and the rest - one row per object per revision, built to be propagated. SATCAT describes identity and lifecycle: one row per object ever catalogued, with owner, launch date and site, decay date and status. Motion versus biography, joined by the same catalog number.

Why are these filed under Building Products?

Because the geostationary belt carries the cable head-end feeds and direct-broadcast television that buildings consume, and knowing where those platforms physically sit is a building-services question as much as a space question. The records carry cross-listings to Aerospace & Defense and Cable & Satellite, so persona and industry routes reach them from either direction.
