Straight answers about NASA data
Which NASA collection matters for predictive maintenance?
The Prognostics Data Set Repository: 21 fixed run-to-failure datasets collected 2008-2019, including turbofan engine degradation (C-MAPSS), battery aging, bearing wear, milling tool wear and IGBT/capacitor aging. Tens of gigabytes of per-cycle sensor readings with true remaining-useful-life labels, which is why it remains the standard benchmark fleet.
What does each NTRS citation record contain?
Nineteen fields: numeric citation ID, title, abstract, authors bound to centers, subject categories, indexed keywords, document type and series designation, publication dates, distribution status, export-control flags, legacy accession numbers, related records and full-text availability. One row per report, ready to join into a literature-analysis pipeline.
Is NASA data historical or live?
Both, depending on the collection. Near-earth-object projections run up to seven days ahead and the astronomy picture archive reaches back to June 1995, while the prognostics archives are fixed laboratory runs collected between 2008 and 2019 that never gain new cycles. Datadory marks which is which on every card.
