What does the MSHA corpus Datadory delivers contain?

A family of joined tables on roughly 92,000 mines: the registry itself, inspections, violations with negligence and gravity findings and civil penalties, dockets and decisions, 107(a) orders, accidents, injuries and illnesses, quarterly and annual employment and production for operators and contractors, and health sampling for coal dust, quartz and noise.

Does the data identify who owns and operates each mine?

Yes, twice over. Each mine row names its current controller and operator with their Assessments Center IDs, and a Controller/Operator History table traces every prior holder - so you can establish which legal entity controlled an asset on the day of any given inspection or accident.

How far back does the history reach?

The mine registry starts January 1, 1970. Violations run from January 1, 2000 to the present. Raw Part 50 accident, injury, illness and employment submissions reach back to 1983, filed by calendar year and sector, with fatality reports and investigation files alongside.

Does the corpus include occupational health measurements?

It does. Alongside the enforcement tables sit health-sampling sets covering coal dust, quartz and noise exposure, plus metal/nonmetal area and personal samples - the measurement record behind the compliance record, joinable to the same mine key.
