Straight answers about U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission data
How many U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission datasets does Datadory deliver?
Ten collections spanning six industries: diversified banks, diversified financial services, diversified metals & mining, diversified support services, hotel & resort REITs and industrial conglomerates. They split into three job types - structured company facts per issuer, per-filing indexes, and full-text search over filings and exhibits since 2001 - and every one scores 9 or 10 on Datadory's quality rubric.
How far back does the record go?
In layers. Full-text search covers filings since 2001, electronic filing's first mandatory year. Structured XBRL facts begin around 2009 and extend along each filer's own tagging history - revenue series for large issuers verify across a decade or more. Filing indexes reach deepest, with registrant histories confirmed into the 1990s. Pre-digital years sit outside the machine-readable window entirely.
Do the six industries get different data, or the same data relabeled?
The same underlying ledger, cut different ways. A bank collection emphasizes tagged GAAP statements - deposits, loan-loss provisions, fair-value lines; the mining collection centers on annual reports carrying SK-1300 reserve statements; the hotel REIT collections pair structured facts with the RevPAR and occupancy discussion living in filing text. Industry pages frame the cut; the provenance model underneath is identical.
Does it include non-GAAP measures like FFO?
No - not as native tags. Management-defined measures such as FFO and same-store NOI carry no standard XBRL concept; verification on Host Hotels confirmed FundsFromOperations absent from its concept set. Derive them from tagged components using the provenance columns, take them from earnings-release exhibits via the full-text collections, or source sector aggregates directly.
