Straight answers about U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission via data.gov data
What does SEC Form N-PORT data cover?
Twenty-seven quarterly cuts, 2019 Q4 through 2026 Q2, of the portfolio disclosures every registered investment company and ETF files monthly: security-level holdings per fund per month-end with issuer identifiers, valuations and classifications, plus fund-level financials, derivatives, repurchase agreements and securities lending.
How granular are the holdings records?
One record per fund x security x month-end, identifying each position by issuer name, LEI, CUSIP and title, sized by balance, units, currency value and percentage of net assets, and classified by payoff profile, asset category, issuer type, investment country and fair-value hierarchy level.
How far back does the N-PORT series run?
Mandatory N-PORT reporting began October 2019 and the first posted quarter was 2019 Q4; cuts continue through 2026 Q2 at research date. Amendments are included exactly as filed alongside originals, so restated month-ends stay distinguishable and never double-count.
Which funds appear - and which do not?
Registered management investment companies and ETFs organized as unit investment trusts report under Form N-PORT, so their positions appear here. Money market funds regulated under rule 2a-7 and small business investment companies filing on Form N-5 report under different regimes and sit outside this corpus.
