What does one CBECS building record represent?
One responding in-scope commercial building: at least 1,000 square feet with majority-commercial floorspace. The 2018 file holds 6,436 such records carrying characteristics, weather attachment and annual consumption and expenditure by fuel, each weighted via FINALWT to stand in for its share of the estimated 5.9-million-building national stock.
How many US homes do the RECS appliance tables cover?
The 18,496-household sample represents 123.5 million occupied US housing units. The HC3.1 table alone reads 122.86 million homes using a refrigerator and 118.65 million with a microwave oven, cross-tabulated by housing type, tenure, income, climate region and home size.
How far back does the EIA rig count go?
To 1949 for total, onshore and offshore rotary rig counts, with the crude-oil versus natural-gas split opening in 1973. Annual figures average 52 or 53 reporting weeks, and the companion active well service rig count adds well-intervention capacity from 1973 onward.
Can the three EIA collections be joined together?
Not directly - they measure different units with different keys. Buildings join to other building data, households to consumer or product files, rigs to production and services datasets.
