What is TRACE corporate bond transaction data?
The prints sit inside a wider regulatory shelf organized into eight catalog categories - Equity Data, Fixed Income Data, Mutual Funds, Options Data, Firm Data, Representative Data, Investor Data and Corporate Finance Data. Fixed income content is compiled from several contributors - TRACE alongside Refinitiv, S&P, Moody's and Black Knight Technologies - so the security lookup searches on a TRACE symbol or CUSIP and returns real-time trade history. Market statistics split by product: bond market activity and sentiment lands end of day, most active corporate bonds and treasury aggregates follow their own clocks, structured product activity reports and capped volume sit in between, and TRACE monthly volume reports arrive monthly.
Municipal securities stay outside the fence. FINRA redirects muni traffic to MSRB's EMMA site, which keeps its own per-trade records under a separate user agreement.
Which datasets pair with TRACE corporate bond prints?
Bond transaction research rarely stops at the prints. Pricing needs outstanding amounts, sizing needs issuance, and cross-country work needs harmonized series - all available without paying inside the same 10-record pool, where six of the nine primaries are free:
BIS Debt Securities and Capital Markets Statistics contributes the macro frame: debt securities outstanding and issuance for over 50 economies quarterly from as early as 1946, keyed by issuer sector, instrument, maturity, currency and valuation and harmonised with the Handbook on Securities Statistics. The bulk CSV runs 193 MB uncompressed, and the release calendar is published - the latest DSS release landed 15 June 2026 with the next due 14 September 2026.
SIFMA Research and Capital Markets Statistics sizes the US corporate market itself, with monthly, quarterly and annual Excel series across Treasuries, MBS, munis, corporates, ABS, agency debt, commercial paper and repo, plus an annual Fact Book carrying 80-plus tables spanning 2011-2025.
