Questions worth asking

Where does used tractor price data come from?

Four marketplaces publish asking prices: TractorHouse (Sandhills Global) is the largest North American listing site with prices, hours and serial numbers on every ad; MachineFinder carries 77,511 John Deere dealer machine URLs across 11 sitemaps; MachineryPete lists roughly 16,000 used tractors plus an Auction Price Data section; Agriaffaires posts 29,167 used-tractor ads on its UK edition. Mascus adds about 81,388 agriculture ads across 40 portals.

Is there any free historical archive of expired tractor listings?

No marketplace publishes one. Agriaffaires removes ads when machines sell with no archive; MachineryPete does not disclose its auction price history depth; TractorHouse carries live current-market listings only. Anyone building depreciation or residual-value curves must snapshot the listing set repeatedly and maintain the history independently.

What fields should a used tractor price record include for valuation work?

Make, model, model year, engine or meter hours, asking price with currency, and seller location at minimum. The richer schemas add full serial/PIN, horsepower, drive type, PTO speed, hydraulic remotes and tire configuration — TractorHouse documents 19 fields per listing, MachineryPete 11, and Agriaffaires exposes ten machine-readable attributes including numeric price, hours and horsepower on every ad card.
