What each does better

Scope: fifty-odd economies against one. ICSG's series run across all member countries plus other major producers and consumers; NRCan covers Canada with provincial detail and offers world figures only as ranking context. A global balance model cannot be built on one country's fact sheet.
Grain of the time axis: monthly against annual. The full ICSG series vocabulary resolves at monthly grain per country, and the database layer stacks history from 1995 onward, with pre-1995 long runs retrievable on request.
