Do the two databases cover the same countries?
No. JODI-Oil spans 114 participating economies worldwide, OPEC producers and Asian and American demand centers included, while Eurostat stays inside the European statistical system: EU member states, EFTA and candidate countries, with the UK retained in historical series. The rosters overlap but neither contains the other.
Which dataset reaches further back?
Eurostat, on the calendar: annual oil balances run from 1990, a dozen years earlier than JODI's start. JODI-Oil begins its monthly ledger in January 2002 and runs to the latest reported month. Take Eurostat for long annual trend lines, JODI for recent monthly movement.
Does either cover natural gas?
