Provenance note — published by Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union, from the PRODCOM survey of industrial production across NACE sections B, C and E. The sold-production collection originally cited under the code DS-045120 has been retired; the current dissemination is DS-059358, Sold production, exports and imports, with DS-059359 covering total production. The rename is cosmetic — the product list and indicator vocabulary carry over.
Methodology note — the population is the whole product list, not a sample panel, but confidential cells are suppressed and flagged rather than published, estimates carry reliability flags, and rounded values publish a rounding base. Quantity units differ product by product — kilograms here, square metres there, item counts elsewhere — so cross-product volume sums are a category error the unit column exists to prevent.
