Both exist. Percentage-share units are published alongside kilograms-per-capita and thousand-tonne measures, so headline rates arrive precomputed and harmonized. For custom denominators - say recycling share of total treated rather than of total generated - the operation codes let you compute any variant without leaving the same schema.
How will I know if a figure has been revised?
Observation flags travel with the values: e marks estimated figures, p provisional ones, b a break in the series and u low reliability. Reading the flag column beside the value separates solid history from first-pass estimates before either lands in a model or a report.
