Straight answers about EIOPA data

How far back do the EIOPA statistics run?

Solo quarterly series start 2016 Q3 and run through 2026 Q1; group quarterly starts 2018 Q2 through 2025 Q4; solo annual covers 2016 to 2025 and group annual 2016 to 2024. A static legacy time series reaches back to 2005 for pre-Solvency-II history.

What granularity does the EIOPA statistics record carry?

Country x period x undertaking type x line item: every row aggregates one EEA member state's life undertakings, non-life undertakings or reinsurers against one quantitative reporting template code such as Assets/R0001 or Goodwill/R0010. Company-level rows are not part of the published record.

Are provisional EIOPA figures final?

No. Provisional releases are flagged as such because they may be revised once finalised statistics follow, and each row carries its date of extraction so you can tell which vintage a figure came from. Datadory ships the flags and vintages intact rather than silently overwriting.

Which countries does the UK exclusion affect?

UK observations appear in EIOPA aggregates only through 2020 Q4; reference dates after that exclude the UK entirely. Series that straddle 2020 therefore describe two different country sets, and any long-run comparison across the boundary needs the panels kept separate.
